CHRISTIAN HAMBURGER ON THE OCCASION OF HIS SIXTIETH BIRTHDAY

On February 19th, 1964, the Chief Editor of Acta Endocrinologica, Dr. Christian Hamburger, will celebrate his sixtieth birthday. His colleagues on the Editorial Board have decided to issue a special volume, Supplementum 90 to this periodical, as a birthday present to him.

Christian Hamburger has been the Head of the Hormone Department of Statens Seruminstitut, Copenhagen, since 1934. After some years of clinical training at various hospitals in Copenhagen (1928-32) he was assistant at the University Institute for General Pathology, Copenhagen, until he moved to Statens Seruminstitut. He spent half a year as a Rockefeller student in New York in 1936. Member of the 3rd International Conference for Standardization of Hormones, Geneva 1938; member of the Advisory Panel of Ciba Foundation from 1949; member of WHO Expert Advisory Panel on Biological Standardization from 1951, and of Nordic Biological Standardization Committee from 1953.
